Definitions/comments
Hypergamy: the woman has a lower level of education than her male partner; hypogamy: the woman has a higher level of education than her male partner; homogamy: the woman has the same level of education as her male partner.
Calculations are based on the comparison between three levels of education: low: ISCED 0-2 (compulsory education or pre-vocational training); intermediate: ISCED 3-4 (apprenticeship, matura); high: ISCED 5-6 (university, other tertiary).
