Question wording: ‘Do you consider yourself as belonging to any particular religion or denomination? [If yes:] Which one?’

Answer categories: ‘Roman Catholic, ‘Christian Catholic, ‘Protestant (including Evangelicalism, New Apostolic Church, Methodism)’, ‘Greek or Russian Orthodox’, ‘Other Christian Religion’, ‘Jewish’, ‘Islam/Muslim’, ‘Asian Religion, ‘Other non Christian religion’. Percentages correspond to respondents considering themselves to belong to a particular religion or denomination.

Sample size: ESS (2002, 2004, 2006 cumulated): 5268–8705; US-CID: 1001; weighted data.
