Social integration Total first marriage rate for women by country 1960–2005 Definitions/comments: Total first marriage rate: average percentage of single women (or men) who will get married for the first time based on their age at marriage in the year under examination. The total first marriage rate is calculated by adding the first marriage rates by age of women (or men) for the year in question (the number of women (or men) at each age is assumed to be the same). The total can exceed 100%, especially when legal changes induce a large increase in marriages in a given year. Source: Eurostat, NewCronos. Data for the indicator or in excel.
