Ecological awareness: Agreement with statement in %, by age and country 2000

Question wording: 1. ‘And how willing would you be to accept cuts in your standard of living in order to protect the environment ? ‘ 2. ‘Many of the claims about environmental threats are exaggerated’.

Answer categories: 1. ‘very willing’, ‘fairly willing’, ‘neither willing nor unwilling’, ‘fairly unwilling’, ‘very unwilling’. Percentages correspond to respondents who were very/fairly willing to accept the statement. 2. ‘strongly agree’, ‘agree’, ‘neither agree nor disagree’, ‘disagree’, ‘strongly disagree’. Percentages correspond to respondents who (strongly) agreed with the statement.
