Wage levels and wage differences

Wage differences: median of monthly full-time gross wages 2006 - Employees in middle and upper management: by sex and education

Definitions/comments: wages: median of standardized monthly gross wages (full-time equivalent) in francs. Median: 50% of wages are lower and 50% of wages are higher than the median wage. Upper management: management level with chief executive officer and executive directors of the company (definition – or joint definition – of the company policy; responsibility or co-responsibility for the realisation of the objectives of the company; coordination of the diverse management functions; responsibility for the policy and the realisation of objectives in a specific domain); middle management: management in charge of one sector of the company, high-level administrative functions (responsibility for planning and organisation in a specific area; collaboration in the development of long-term measures).
