Long-term unemployment

Long-term unemployment in Switzerland - Development 1991–2007

Definitions/comments: Long-term unemployment: minimum one year unemployed, as a percentage of all unemployed persons. Unemployed persons (international definition: SFSO): persons who have no work, are seeking a job and are ready to begin working. Registered unemployed persons (definition Seco): persons who are registered with a regional placement office (RPO), have no work and are available for job placement. Out-of-payment: registered unemployed (definition Seco), whose right to unemployment benefits has expired.

Sample size: SLFS: min. 16000 per year.
