Further education

Further education of 25–64 year-olds in employment: by type, education and country 2003

Definitions/comments: Further education: in the last 12 months; formal: complete (new) course of education or training; non-formal: isolated courses or modules, conferences, other taught activities; informal: self-learning without teacher/pupil relationship (autodidact, reading, etc.). Educational levels: low: ISCED 0–2 (compulsory schooling, pre-vocational education); intermediate: ISCED 3–4 (apprenticeship, matura); high: ISCED 5–6 (university, other tertiary).
